When to pause the decision
Keep unanswered checks in view.
You do not need to settle a care decision while answers are missing. Ask for the missing record or explanation, then compare it with the rest of the plan.
Check these claims before agreeing
Approval claimed for a custom medicine
What to notice
Compounded means pharmacy-made. Saying FDA approved this finished medicine would be false, as of September 2026. FDA, the agency overseeing US drugs, is short for Food and Drug Administration.
What to check
Ask whether the claim is about the old brand, the ingredient or the medicine being supplied.
No prescription requested
What to notice
Supplying prescription medicine without a valid prescription breaches federal law, as of September 2026.
What to check
Ask who will carry out your assessment and who will write the prescription. Get both names.
A badge without a record
What to notice
Fake guarantees and official-looking fake seals may appear on health websites, warns the Federal Trade Commission, the US agency for consumer protection.
What to check
Look up the prescriber and pharmacy through their licensing boards.
A polished page cannot fill in a missing name, licence record or explanation of your health and treatment.
Research wording is no substitute for a care plan
Intended use
Read the offer beyond its label
One label might read 'for research use only'. Another label may say 'not for human consumption'. In warning letters checked as of September 2026, FDA said these words do not excuse selling an unapproved drug for people to use. The agency looked at how the sellers described and offered the products, as well as their labels.
Those letters accuse named sellers of breaking drug rules. They are FDA's warnings, not decisions by a court. Calling a chemical a research product does not make it prescribed care.

Ask for the missing piece in writing
Put the missing item into a short request: the pharmacy name, the licence record, the adult evidence, or the total charge. Ask for an answer you can keep.
Price alone cannot judge a pharmacy. FDA lists unusually deep discounts as a concern alongside other checks; legitimate prices can also differ.
If the explanation still does not make sense, take the proposed plan and your questions to another doctor or prescriber for a second view.
A question to keep
What can you show me that resolves this missing check?
